Concept: Functional Coexistence
The configuration of this house was based on the complexity and differentiation of the user’s habits, needs and hobbies. The aim was to create possibilities, under different circumstances and periods. The arrangement of the functions was such as to create alternative relationships of privacy and coexistence with in_visible glimpses of activities at certain points. Private and public activities were of equal importance to the users therefore the house was based on two equal segments with an atrium on the middle. Expansion and retraction was made possible through moving panels of glass. Circulation was configured in a dual manner with a private and a public staircase. The exterior volume was cut at certain points creating private garden and light sources. Green and flowers were used as a secondary material. Reminiscent of Jeff Koons flower puppy green material created vertical gardens and ephemeral textures that could be transformed seasonally.
